As you know by now I have set myself a challenge to be more of a cheerleader for the wonderful human beings that surround me, inspire me, encourage me and generally give me hope for the future. So with that in mind every Wednesday I aim to share with you the profile of some fabulously divine human beings so you too may share in all that they are and bring to the world.

Welcome to #WonderfulWednesday No. 24

Todays utterly divine human being and I first met a few years ago as a fellow youth worker in our home town of Bournemouth.

So let me introduce them to you by sharing 10 things that totally captivate me about them:
1) They don't have the word 'can't' in their vocabulary
2) They love everyone
3) They can chat about anything for hours
4) They don't follow the crowd
5) They have a wicked sense of humour
6) They desire to make the world a better place
7) They don't give up
8) They speak the truth
9) They affirm others
10) They say yes to life's adventures

Who is this #WonderfulWednesday human you may ask ...

Kevin Bales

I love Kevin Bales.

By day Kevin works with adults who have learning difficulties for the local council and he's brilliant at it! But by night well Kevin Bales becomes 'Cinnamon Swirl'.

Only joking Kevin picked that name last night as his ideal drag name should he ever enter the drag world. By night Kevin is a trustee of his local church and always dreaming up creative ways to signpost people to Jesus. He is passionate about creating safe, inclusive places of worship with genuine fellowship and deep rooted honesty.

In addition to a million other by night things Kevin is also my fellow co curator of Streetspace Bournemouth. Having been a youth worker for more years than either of us care to mention, Kevin is passionate about supporting young people to be all that they can be. He always inspires me to keep on asking what next? He has a huge, huge heart this one and if an adventure is to be had then Kevin is there.

Kevin brings me joy and hope in an abundance and I am thankful for the gift he is in my life. He will be thoroughly embarrassed that I have written this about him and will shrug it off saying he is nothing special but he is very special. This also means that tonight I will owe him a drink but hey mates are meant to be celebrated right?!
